Meet the Team


Kristen McMullen


Kristen has dedicated nearly 20 years of her life to higher education, spearheading career service initiatives, creating programs that connect students with the resources they need to succeed, and bolstering various universities’ alumni relations at the likes of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn State University and Duke University. She is currently pursuing her masters in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology from the University of East London with the goal of extending Success Center services related to our students’ wellbeing. Kristen’s presidential leadership has elevated organizations including the Junior League, the Jaycees, Penn State’s Commission for Women, the Volunteer Center’s Community Volunteer in Action organization, and the Penn State Charleston Alumni Chapter. She also founded the Delaware Women’s Leadership Summit and the Volunteer Leadership Organization Council of Southwestern Connecticut. 

In her current role Kristen is responsible for the following:

  • Strategic management of the SB Student Success Center
  • Life Skills and Life Planning
  • Student Success Mentoring Program
  • School of Business Alumni Interest Group
  • Liaison to SB Board of Governors and Dean
  • Collect and utiliza data for reporting to accrediting bodies and program planning

Associate Director, Academic Advising Services

A Charleston native, Wendy has over 20 years of student services experience in higher education.  Wendy graduated from the College of Charleston in 1995 and worked in both the public and private sector before falling in love with Higher Education and promoting student success.  Wendy joined the School of Business in 2018 and welcomes SB students to meet with her to discuss their academic and personal goals.

In her current role Wendy is responsible for the following:

  • Strategic planning for SB academic advising
  • Managing mandatory advising registration holds process
  • New Student Orientation Planning
  • Major and minor exploration
  • Creating academic plans based on your personal and professional goals
  • Connecting you to campus resources
  • Creating academic recovery plans
  • Creating graduation plans
  • Bachelor of Professional Studies Advising

Cory Werkheiser

Assistant Director, Career and Professional Development / Internship Coordinator

Maggie Hill is from Amelia Island, Florida, and a proud University of Florida Graduate with a degree in Event Management with a concentration in Public Relations. Go Gators! She worked for an IT firm in Boston before coming to the School of Business in 2010. Maggie is passionate about higher education and serving students and welcomes you to schedule an appointment to plan your academic goals.

Operations Manager

Hayden is a Charleston native and 2015 graduate from the School of Business. While at CofC, Hayden majored in Business Administration and also worked as a resident assistant in Liberty Residence Hall. Hayden started his career at KION North America where he worked in brand development and national account sales. Hayden returned to the College in 2017 to his current role. Hayden has his masters degree in youth development leadership from Clemson University. 

In his current role Hayden is responsible for the following:

              • Prospective student visits

              • Advisor for SB Student Ambassadors
