Impact Interns Program

Students impacting the community.

Impact Interns are a prestigious cohort of College of Charleston students giving back to the Charleston community through internships with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Their focus is on not only growing profitability, but also making an impact in the city in which they learn. Students not only earn credit towards their degrees, but also participate in programming and attend speaker events related to sustainability while receiving mentoring on triple-bottom-line concepts and a financial award at the end of their internship.

This dynamic internship program consists of two major components:

Community Engagment

The director of the Impact Interns program works with community partners to identify 10-20 high-impact internship opportunities within the Charleston community. Students then apply for the program and are matched up with internship providers based upon their expertise and interest.

Experiential Learning

Students get the unique opportunity to learn from community leaders, CofC faculty and renowned business leaders — all the while making an impact in the Charleston community. Students receive CofC credit through MGMT 344 or ENTR 344 classes and, when approved, other disciplines.
