Chief Executive Officer of Emergent

Mr. Curtis Merriweather has years of experience in engineering and management experience. He has over seventeen (17) years of experience in government support services beginning in 1996. He has extensive experience in strategic initiatives and operational responsibilities grounded in information technology and intelligence operations. He is responsible for driving the strategy and accelerating the growth and corporate development of Emergent, Inc. and is a Member of Emergent’s Board of Directors. Mr. Merriweather is the primary visionary, architect and energy behind Emergent's establishment, growth and transformation into a force in the national intelligence community. In 2010, Mr. Merriweather initiated, led and closed the initial contract transaction to establish the organization. He then single handedly set out to establish and recruit a high caliber corporate team to strengthen the company’s leadership and business development execution. Mr. Merriweather also provides day-to-day leadership and management across all company programs and customer-facing operations to ensure that Emergent delivers operational efficiency, superior performance, continues to exceed the expectations of its important national security customers while meeting Emergent’s growth and profitability goals. Mr. Merriweather continues to champion the growth and evolution of Emergent as a leading agile, innovative, force in the national Intelligence Community (IC). Under the leadership of Mr. Merriweather, Emergent delivers full spectrum cyber security, information technology, intelligence, and language operations support services to both the Department of Defense (DoD) and the IC.

Prior to Emergent, Mr. Merriweather supported the Department of Energy (DoE) and the Department of Defense (DoD). Mr. Merriweather supported the Department of Energy under the direction of Bechtel for eight years in various capacities including process engineer for a reactor facility in Aiken, SC. Mr. Merriweather began supporting Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) in Charleston, SC. While supporting SPAWAR, he provided direct support to the Chief Engineer for the Communications Department. While in the Communications Department, Mr. Merriweather supported the Assistant Secretary of the Navy’s (ASN) Research Development and Acquisition (ASN) Chief Engineer’s (CHENG) office. Mr. Merriweather also provided varying degrees of support to the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Department and Corporate Operations before departing SPAWAR, October 2010.

Mr. Merriweather holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina and an MBA and a Masters of Science in Project Management from The Citadel. While at SPAWAR, Curtis achieved his Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering (SPRDE) Level III and Program Management Level II certification from the Defense Acquisition University (DAU).
