About

In September 2015, all 193 countries of the General Assembly adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of their 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The SDGs is a holistic framework for achieving sustainable development for all. Students lead change by forming startups that make a profit, while solving social and/or environmental problems as identified by the SDGs. Since its inception, Impact X has formed over 60 startup teams that have created innovative, for-profit solutions that improve people’s lives and the planet.

Impact X Student Teams and Mentors

Impact X Accelerator

Each semester, students apply for a coveted position in the Impact X Accelerator. Teams of three interdisciplinary CofC students experience what it is like to move an idea from conception to commercialization. With two mentors per team, students have the opportunity to actively engage in the founding of a globally-scalable, high tech company. At the end of the semester all teams compete for up to $10,000 in the final pitch competition.

Impact X Global (NGAL)

CofC students who already have a team and a product or service may join student teams from the University of Tartu, Nebraska Wesleyan University, The Citadel and Tallinn Tech to scale their company into a growth phase. You will travel with your teammate(s) and faculty to Estonia and Charleston to work on your customer growth model and momentum. The international name for this program is NGAL - Network Globally, Act Locally. Funding: Harry and Reba Huge Foundation.
