Impact Hour

Impact Hour
Thursday, November 19, 2020
5:00 to 6:00

Our beautiful city of Charleston is facing social and environmental challenges including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The goal of the Stuart Williams Impact Hour is to invite discussion on how to forge solutions to these challenges.

According to impact expert Stuart Williams — founder and chairman of In Place Impact — people who innovate solutions for humanity and the planet will have the greatest wealth accumulation over the next 50 years. The concept of Impact Day is part of a larger movement to help Charleston become a hub for businesses purposed to make a difference while making a profit. The goal of Impact Day is to provide Charlestonians the opportunity to meet, discuss and learn from the world’s leading impact entrepreneurs.

In 1993, Stuart Williams co-created the original platform of "Making a Profit, While Making a Difference." This was a full quarter of a century before Larry Fink, the vast majority of the members of The Business Roundtable, and other global business leaders in Davos 2020 started calling for change and extolling the virtues of Leadership and Management through the lens of Profit for Purpose and Multi-Stakeholder Capitalism.

The Stuart William Impact Hour supports the United Nation’s 17Sustainable Development Goals

a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
