 Club for Hospitality and Tourism  

The purpose of CHAT is to provide an arena for the intellectual and experiential growth of our members who are interested in the hospitality and tourism industry. (CHAT Constitution, Article II.)

Our goal is to provide professional and academic growth opportunities for our members through enrichment activities and philanthropy in the industry. Check out our announcements and calendar for some exciting upcoming events.

There are no fees to join the CHAT club and most of our events are free.

Hospitality and Tourism Management Student Ambassadors

Our student ambassadors have a multitude of responsibilities. They work directly with department faculty and the department chair to help represent and promote the department and all the fantastic opportunities available to students. 

  • Manage & plan social media for the department
  • Attending incoming prospective student sessions
  • Planning, hosting, and attending alumni events
  • Updating and maintaining HTMT website's
  • Assist with internship program data management
  • Planning, hosting, and attending recruitment & industry partnership visits and events with local, national, and international hospitality recruiters
  • Assist with the development and execution of the annual marketing plan for the department
  • Researching curriculum, alumni, local hospitality businesses, and other broad projects

Office of Tourism Analysis

The Office of Tourism Analysis operates as a unit of the College of Charleston's Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management and is counseled and advised by industry and community leaders charged with proposing the office's research priorities.

The Office collaborates with the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau to implement a series of competitiveness, research, and monitoring programs and disseminate such information to decision-makers and stakeholders in the Lowcountry's hospitality and tourism industry.
