Melinda Patience is a 2007 College of Charleston graduate with dual degrees in Business Administration and Hospitality & Tourism Mangement. During her senior year, she completed her internship as a marketing research intern for the Office of Tourism Analysis. This internship sparked her interest in research and analytics. After graduation, Melinda worked for a competitive intelligence research firm in the Charleston. During this time, she began taking computer science courses at Trident Technical College to broaden her skill set. In May 2013, Melinda returned to the College as the Research Coordinator for the Office of Tourism Analysis. She earned her M.S. in Data Analytics from Southern New Hampshire University in the March 2018. She hopes that this degree will help to expand her research scope and will allow her to break into the teaching world soon. Melinda is also a certified trainer for the Certificate in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) exam.
