Dr. Peter Calcagno started his career at the College of Charleston in 2003.  He earned his B.S. in Economics and History from Hillsdale College and Ph.D. in Economics from Auburn University.  Dr. Calcagno has previously worked at Wingate University, Jacksonville State University, and Georgia State University. He is particularly interested in Public Choice Economics, Political Economy, and Public Finance. In 2008, Dr. Calcagno received the School of Business and Economics Distinguished Teaching Award, and is currently the founding director of the organization Center for Public Choice & Market Process. He is a member of the Public Choice Society and Association of Private Enterprise Education.
