Meeting Space Reservation Information
Beatty Center and Tate Center
COVID INFORMATION: Due to the increased availability of vaccines, treatments and rapid testing, South Carolina, along with other states and the federal government, has begun treating COVID-19 as an endemic virus. This designation means that the disease is circulating at an expected or normal level, minus an occasional outbreak. We are no longer requiring masks or restricting attendance for events beyond the normal capacity of a space.
For all reserved spaces: A CofC non-student faculty/staff must be in attendance to help manage the event.
Please use the appropriate link (for Faculty and Staff or Student Groups) at the end of the page to request space.
Due to high demand for meeting spaces in the Beatty and Tate Centers, reservation requests from College of Charleston groups outside of the School of Business will be accepted, but we may not be able to accommodate every request. Requests from non-CofC groups should contact Patti Goff directly at goffp@cofc.edu. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Rules for Use – In Addition to COVID Restrictions
- The Reservation Holder is responsible for setup of the space to include: furniture arrangement, turning on and testing of technology equipment. Should you require time for setup before your meeting, please be sure to request an earlier start time to accommodate for this setup. Please note, if you experience technical issues with AV equipment, call the Helpdesk at 843-953-3375 or email helpdesk@cofc.edu.
- The Reservation Holder is responsible for ensuring furniture is returned to its proper arrangement and that all projectors, computers, lights, etc. are turned OFF. Please also raise the projector screen if applicable.
- The Reservation Holder is responsible for arranging for access to the reserved room. Staff in the Dean’s Office will unlock reserved spaces during regular business hours from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. After-hours access may be obtained by emailing Public Safety at dooropeningrequests@cofc.edu. Please contact Public Safety at least seven days in advance of the event with the following details: the name of the campus organization & contact submitting the request, event title, time the door(s) should be unlocked, and the time the event will conclude.
IF YOU PLAN TO HAVE FOOD/REFRESHMENTS - IN ADDITION TO COVID RESTRICTIONS
- The Reservation Holder is responsible for making all arrangements for catering. ARAMARK is exclusively contracted for all campus catering needs. The Catering Sales Coordinator may be reached at (843) 953-5669 or via email at catering@cofc.edu. All catering breakdown & cleanup must occur within the time constraints designated in your reservation. It is the responsibility of the Reservation Holder to ensure that ARAMARK clears the room within the time allotted for the reservation.
- The Reservation Holder is responsible for making sure all waste/garbage is removed from the building. Large garbage cans/liners are available from the Dean’s Office, and there is a dumpster behind the Beatty Building. The Reservation Holder is also responsible for making sure surfaces are wiped down as needed. If your event is large and/or on the weekend, you may hire housekeeping by submitting a work order to Physical Plant well in advance of your event. Physical Plant will be responsible for letting you know the charges based on the needs for your event. It is still the Reservation Holder’s responsibility to confirm that the space is returned to normal.
