Academic Advising

Put your academic career on track

Academic advising is an essential part of creating a positive experience for students enrolled in the School of Business at the College of Charleston. Our business students are encouraged to actively take part in advising throughout their college career.

School of Business Guide Book

When students initially declare their majors in the School of Business, they are required to read the School of Business Guide Book to ensure that they understand what it means to major in the School of Business.  This guide reviews student conduct expectations, admissions requirements and student support services.  It will also enable students to fully understand the engagement and professional development opportunities available to them as a School of Business student.

Faculty Advising Session

Students will be notified of their assigned advisor via e-mail, and can also find their advisor's name on their DegreeWorks degree audit in MyCharleston (Academic Services tab).  Students will need to contact their faculty advisor directly to make an advising appointment.  Students will not be allowed to register for classes until they have met with their advisor.

Students are required to meet with their faculty advisor at least one time. However, advisors are available every semester to assist students and answer questions about academic planning and degree requirements. Students are also encouraged to take advantage of resources available through DegreeWorks, the school's website and the course catalog. While we're here to help keep you on track, students are ultimately responsible for managing their own academic success.
