Every spring, the Center for Public Choice and Market Process organizes Adam Smith Week — a series of events to create awareness and explore important topics in political economy, entrepreneurship and the role of government. One of the most recognizable figures in economics, Adam Smith is known for his belief that entrepreneurship is essential to a country’s commercial growth. The week’s events allow students, faculty and the community to discuss Smith and his economic philosophy.

The 2018 Adam Smith Week event roster will include discussions and panels on experimental economics, disaster economics, public finance and more.

Impact Day - Presented by In Place Impact and the College of Charleston School of Business

According to impact investment expert Stuart Williams — founder and chairman of In Place Impact — people who innovate solutions for humanity and the planet will have the greatest wealth accumulation over the next 50 years.

As a continuation of its ongoing commitment to sustainability literacy, the College of Charleston School of Business has partnered with In Place Impact to host the first-ever Impact Day. Part of a larger movement to help Charleston become a hub for businesses purposed to make a difference while making a profit, the day-long affair will give Charlestonians the opportunity to meet, discuss and learn from the world’s leading impact entrepreneurs who share Williams’ vision for the future.

The day consists of events that will enrich participants’ knowledge of impact investing and highlight the role the College of Charleston School of Business is playing in creating the next wave of impact entrepreneurs.

In a keynote event, philanthropic leaders Darla Moore and Anita Zucker will come together publicly for the first time to discuss impact investing during a fireside chat. Secure your tickets today!
