Sharon Kingman

Sharon Kingman is an accomplished consultant for firms and organizations including the International Olympic Committee that require technology planning, budgeting and needs assessment.  With her own consulting practice and a marketing background, she provides strategic planning for sponsorship negotiation, management, integration and timetables.  Current and past clients include the United States Olympic Committee (Chicago 2016, Bell Canada, Sochi 2014), the Nagano Games – NTT and World Equestrian Games Foundation.  From 1997 – 2002, she was the managing director of telecommunications for the 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and managed Bellsouth’s Olympic and Paralympic project for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. 

Kingman has earned a number of awards including the Bellsouth President’s Circle of Excellence Award and the International Olympic Committee’s Order of Excellence for her leadership in telecommunications for the 2002 Winter Games.  She is a frequent guest speaker at industry conferences and professional associations including the American Marketing Association.  In 2009, Kingman was invited to speak to students in the School of Business as part of the George G. Spaulding Executive Speaker Series.

As an alumnus of the College of Charleston School of Business, Kingman continues to serve her alma mater as Chair of the College of Charleston Foundation Board and gives generously to many campus needs.  In 2006, the Kingman family established a scholarship to benefit College of Charleston business students.  In other capacities, she serves as a board member for the Meyer Center for Special Children, and as an advisor for Greer State Bank’s Advisory Council and ASE Wealth Management.  Sharon and her husband Rus still have one child at home and call Greenville and Isle of Palms home.
