Welcome

The Tate Center for Entrepreneurship enhances the entrepreneurial and educational opportunities in our region and state through education, innovation, research and advocacy.

The Tate Center for Entrepreneurship

The Tate Center for Entrepreneurship serves as a collaborative bridge between the College of Charleston's School of Business and the business community locally, regionally and statewide. The center was named after Jack Tate, a S.C. entrepreneur who founded Carolina Baby Superstores. Tate’s generous gift enabled us to establish the first entrepreneurship center in the state and build a world-class facility complete with classrooms, meeting rooms, conference space and an atrium.

Member of Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers

Under the sponsorship of the Kauffman Foundation, NASDAQ and Beacon Venture Capital, the National Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers was established for the purpose of continued collaboration among the centers. It is the vehicle by which the top established entrepreneurship centers, as well as the newly emerging ones, can work together to share information, develop special projects and assist each other in advancing and improving their respective impact.
