Seven Reasons to Celebrate Entrepreneurship at the College of Charleston

2. The student accelerator ICAT (Interdisciplinary Center for Applied Technology) accepts 21 students across three disciplines: one business major, one computer science major and one liberal arts major.

3. Our starter Entrepreneurship class - ENTR 200 - is open to sophomores and features the Distinguished Entrepreneurial Speaker Series. Over 180 students enrolled in the past academic year.

4. Our Entrepreneurship Society - Enactus - is very popular and is helping ot organize the Impact Investor's Ball on March 28, 2018. 

5. Outstanding advisory board of seasoned entrepreneurs:
  • ICAT supplies two top mentors, one tech mentor and one buisness mentor
  • Glenn Starkman is our "Tommy Baker" Entrepreneur-in-Residence and teaches our ENTR 445 class where up to 16 students learn and interact with individual entrepreneurs. This class was introduced to the School by Tommy Baker and has received rave reviews for 24 years!

6. World renowned guest speakers including over 30 entrepreneurs last semester alone plus special events as the Tommy Baker Entrepreneurship Hour!

7. Student competitions to get the entrepreneurial spirit flowing. Last year, over $25,000 in prizes were awarded to students in various competitions ranging from our Wild Pitch Competition to Demo Day.
