Nicole Barber

Nicole Barber is currently studying for her Master of Business Administration with a focus in Hospitality Revenue Management at the College of Charleston. She previously earned her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as Business Administration from the College of Charleston. As an undergraduate, Nicole wrote a business plan that came in 2nd place for the Outstanding Business Plan Contest. Nicole most recently played a critical role in the launching of The Dewberry Spa, located within The Dewberry hotel in downtown Charleston. As part of the startup team, she assisted in setting up facility operations and implementing standard operating procedure. Nicole spent several years at J.Crew as a sales associate, learning to excel in customer service. In her spare time, Nicole travels frequently, usually to her native New York, but also internationally. Nicole’s other personal interests include true crime podcasts, cooking and swimming.

Clare Behringer 

Clare Behringer is a graduate of Clemson University’s Fine Arts program, where she was awarded undergraduate honors, including cum laude and internships through the art department. Currently pursuing her MBA, she comes from a background of intensive creative production and design. Having always maintained an eagerness to learn, Clare consistently seeks out challenges to overcome so she may, in turn, help others do the same. A prolific writer, she has published press releases and written content for both professional social media posts and has had articles from her blog featured on the Wordpress website’s main feed. Most recently, Clare is volunteering for Cultivate LLC, a non-profit whose mission is to bring art and science together for extracurricular education. Clare hopes to combine her love and talent for creativity with the analytics of the marketing world and eventually own her own business.

Alison Benson

Alison Benson is an MBA candidate with a focus in Hospitality Revenue Management at the College of Charleston. She received a B.S. in Business Administration with a Real Estate Focus in 2010 from The College. She comes to the MBA program with over 7 years of commercial real estate experience, most recently as a Senior Associate at Stream Realty Partners in Atlanta. During her four years at Stream, she specialized in retail leasing and tenant representation throughout the Southeast. In 2015 and 2016, Alison was named an Atlanta CoStar Power Broker, recognizing her as a top commercial real estate broker. Prior to joining Stream, Alison served as a Real Estate Representative at Clear Channel Outdoor in New York City and as a Retail Brokerage Assistant in Colliers International’s Atlanta office. The International Council of Shopping Centers published her white paper on “U.S. Shopping Centers: The Shape of Things to Come,” in Retail Property Insights, November 2010, Vol. 17, No. 3, pp. 25-34 (with M. Panfel and M. Tubridy). Following graduation, Alison plans to pursue a career that builds upon her commercial real estate experience and utilizes her fierce loyalty, strong work ethic, decisive nature, and uncanny intuition.

Jessica Bradley

Jessie Bradley earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University San Marcos, where she was a member of the Dean’s List. For most of her career, she has worked for nonprofits in the health and wellness industry, holding roles across various disciplines including, marketing, management and fundraising. Most recently, Jessie served as interim CEO of ChefsBest, where she developed and executed business and marketing strategies that lead to the company’s first profitable year under the current ownership. Her former employers have praised her for being motivated, team-oriented, dedicated, creative and resourceful. Jessie is currently pursuing her MBA with a Finance focus at the College of Charleston while working as a graduate assistant. Upon completing her degree, she hopes to combine her passions with her business and marketing expertise to provide nonprofits with guidance on business strategy, marketing and fundraising efforts.

Kiana Brayton

Kiana Brayton received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Economics, and graduated summa cum laude, from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. During a semester abroad, Kiana travelled extensively, advancing her cultural understanding and communication. She has experience in corporate accounting from her time with Marsh Management and currently works as a staff accountant for a small CPA firm. Kiana is a Master of Business Administration candidate at the College of Charleston and hopes to work for a company that is committed to globalization and a customer-centric model.

Jared Busby

Jared Busby graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental & Natural Resources – Natural Resources and Economic Policy Concentration with a Minor in Sustainability from Clemson University in May of 2017.  He is currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration from the College of Charleston.  He was elected to Treasurer of the MBA Class of 2018 and to the Class Executive Committee. Jared had internships with Time Warner Cable as a Sustainability Analyst working with the Network Operations and Support Team, with Booz Allen Hamilton as a Research Analyst with the Defense Intelligence Team and with VIKA Corporation assisting with site development projects in Northern Virginia. While in school he studied abroad at the Pantheon Institute in Rome, Italy where he was exposed to Italian business practices and culture. At Clemson, he was one of 12 members of the Solar Power for Clemson University special project whose mission was to bring solar power to the university.  Additionally, he developed leadership and project management skills through his involvement with student government.  His interests include working out, traveling, advocating for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and attending Clemson football games.

Kevin Carter

Kevin Carter received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at the College of Charleston. Kevin has more than seven years of work experience prior to enrolling in the program. Most recently, Kevin worked as a sales representative for the Foundation Partners Group. As one of the largest private consolidators of funeral homes and cemeteries in the U.S., Foundation Partners Group is responsible for 70+ locations in 13 states. In his role as a sales representative, Kevin was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers at a personal level by assisting them during times of grief. He boosted sales and drove lead generation by actively participating in 15+ community events yearly. Kevin has a passion for people and strives to improve others’ lives daily. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, tennis and spending time outdoors.

Eunice Catindig

Eunice Catindig received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Asia and the Pacific, Philippines. She honed her skills through both management and liberal arts courses. She gained professional experience working for United Laboratories, Inc., the biggest pharmaceutical company in the Philippines, as a marketing and events specialist. Eunice handled both business-to-business and direct-to-consumer brand marketing as well as planned large-scale events to promote the brand. Eunice was also given a variety of special projects, which included collaborating with employees from different brands to handle company events and improving the division’s internal process systems. Eunice is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the College of Charleston. She also serves as a dream team member at the Seacoast church in the pre-school department.

Sam Coltrane

Sam Coltrane is a current MBA candidate at the College of Charleston where he also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in three years, graduating magna cum laude. Sam has experience in a variety of fields including talent recruiting, real estate, and law. He has interacted with senior management and worked directly with customers to fulfill their needs.  His experience as an intern at a local start-up afforded him experience in a fast-growth, multi-state organization.  Sam’s long term goal is to pursue a career that uses his natural leadership in the fields of finance and management.

Zachery Crooks

Zachery Crooks graduated in 2015 from the University of Nebraska, Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Banking, Finance, Real Estate and Land-use Economics. As an undergraduate, he passed three professional exams: Life and Health, Series 6 and Series 63 while working as an associate financial representative at Northwestern Mutual. After graduation, Zachery accepted a job as a transportation manager with Werner Enterprises and relocated to Columbia, SC, where he worked for a year and a half managing the day-to-day operations for a fleet of approximately 100 drivers. He is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Zachery hopes to eventually pursue a career in real estate finance and investing. Whether it is with education, leadership conferences or seeking advice from his superiors, Zachery continually tries to learn and grow as an individual to help better, not only himself, but those around him. In his free time, he enjoys athletics, traveling and being on the water.

Patrick Dunlap

Patrick Dunlap graduated cum laude from West Virginia University with a degree in Business Administration and a focus in Hospitality and Tourism Management. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at the College of Charleston, pursuing a focus in Finance. Patrick has multiple years of experience in hotel operations, including numerous internships and management responsibilities. These experiences helped develop his leadership, critical thinking and customer service skills. He participated in the inaugural STR Market Study Competition, where his team analyzed the Baltimore hospitality market to determine the impact from the unrest of spring 2015. This team received an honorable mention at the HX: The Hotel Experience conference in November 2015. Upon graduation, Patrick plans to pursue a career in property development and management while continuing his passion for fishing and golfing.

Stephanie Gerard

Stephanie Gerard is a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication with a Marketing minor as well as a certificate in Public Relations. As an undergraduate, she valued her experiences serving on her university’s student government board and as the Vice President of Fraternity Development for her sorority. Currently, Stephanie is a graduate student at the College of Charleston working toward a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Hospitality Revenue Management. She also works as the project manager for Donors Cure, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which serves as a university-based crowdfunding platform for medical research. Stephanie is a member of the American Marketing Association’s Young Professionals Division and enjoys spending her free time dancing, cooking and reading.

William Getts

William Getts earned his bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and is currently a Master of Business Administration candidate at the College of Charleston. Upon completing his undergraduate degree in May 2011, William was hired into the competitive world of Wall Street in New York City, where he worked for Citigroup from July 2011 until February 2017. William started with a back-office operations team, but quickly ascended into a front-office revenue-generating seat on the Mortgage Finance desk within Debt Capital Markets. He spent three years working on 30 securitizations exceeding $13.2 billion in total issuance and was promoted to associate, ranking in the top five of his associate class. William then applied internally, with strong recommendations from three managing directors, to a position within Sales and Trading, where he supported the trading of high-yield municipal bonds. William’s strengths as a self-starting team player who can think strategically, demonstrate aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis and excel in a fast-paced, challenging work environment was consistently recognized by senior management throughout his career at Citigroup. After completing the MBA program, William hopes to leverage his analytical background and strong work ethic to find full-time employment within the Charleston area.

Bryce Graham

Bryce Graham received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Virginia Tech University. He is pursuing his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality Revenue Management from the College of Charleston. Bryce has over four years of professional work experience in both public accounting and banking. During his time at accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Bryce gained valuable financial exposure to Fortune 500 companies covering many industries, including banking, telecommunications, hospitality and entertainment. Bryce was promoted after one year of work experience from associate to experienced associate. His opportunities within PwC have exposed Bryce to critical organization and relationship management skills that gave Bryce an outstanding reputation among his clients and co-workers. During his free time, Bryce enjoys spending time with friends, playing golf and actively managing his own investment portfolio.

Samuel Jones

Samuel Jones received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Japanese culture and language from Clemson University, where he graduated cum laude.  While at Clemson he studied abroad in Kyoto, Japan where he completed language and culture courses and improved his communication skills with native Japanese speakers.  He is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at College of Charleston with a concentration in finance.  He previously worked for Panasonic Automotive Systems for over 9 years where he started as an associate engineer and was promoted to Senior Electrical Engineer.  Most recently he transitioned to Project Lead where he managed several concurrent design projects.  While at Panasonic he received the President’s Award for his participation in the Alternative Parts Working Group to find replacement parts after the Thailand flood in 2012.  He has experience in bringing new products to market expanding from quotation to product launch.  Before going to Panasonic he worked for Space and Naval Warfare where he traveled to Italy, Bahrain, Japan and Australia to conduct on-site installs for Navy Ships.  In his personal time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending Clemson football games, and traveling.

Kelsey Kool 

Kelsey Kool graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design and a minor in Business. She also received a master’s degree in Education from the university. After teaching for a year, Kelsey moved to Dallas to begin her career in the apparel industry. In her three years designing at Abi Ferrin, she progressed from intern to sales to design director. Kelsey then went on to work for Trunk Club. After just six months with the company, she was chosen to open a satellite office in Charleston. After two years at Trunk Club, Kelsey started the Master in Business Administration program at College of Charleston. She hopes to gain more experience in the marketing world while also growing her current business, Frisky Britches.

Nico Kuehn

Nico Kuehn, a German native, received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he played on the Division 1 men’s tennis team for four consecutive years. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Nico made the Dean’s List in his junior and senior year and was captain of the tennis team. After completing his degree, Nico went back to Germany to work at Lufthansa Technik, a global leader for aircraft overhaul and maintenance with over 25,000 employees and more than $5 billion in revenue. During that time, he gained valuable insights and work experience, focusing on the company’s key accounts and leading the development and launch of a new IT system. Nico is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at the College of Charleston to gain a deeper business knowledge and the necessary soft skills to excel in his future career. After completing his MBA, he is looking forward to working in the marketing division of a big corporate company, which preferably has German ties. On the volunteer side, Nico has always been very conscious about his community and environment and has been a regular volunteer for food collections and sporting events that benefit people with disabilities. In his free time, Nico keeps an active and healthy lifestyle and is very passionate about traveling and getting to know different cultures.

Gina Lucchese

Gina Lucchese graduated summa cum laude from Gettysburg College with a bachelor’s degree in Organization and Management Studies and minors in Mathematics and Business. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at the College of Charleston with a focus in Marketing. While at Gettysburg College, Gina helped students learn business statistics as a peer learning associate and served as finance vice president of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. As part of her senior capstone on cross-cultural organizational behavior, she volunteered at South Central Community Action Programs in the Gettysburg area — leading a weekly exercise class for low-income women to encourage maintaining healthy lifestyles. Upon graduation, she worked as a Product Marketing Specialist for Gemalto, an international data security company. While her main role was to support marketing managers on encryption product campaigns, she was given the opportunity to lead a product update launch. This included preparing communications and product collateral, such as solution briefs, presentations and web content to assist the sales team and enhance current business partnerships. She hopes to continue her career in marketing by joining a cohesive team in a consumer-directed industry that enables her to develop personal connections with customers and the surrounding community.

Caroline McGill

Caroline McGill is a native South Carolinian who graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Presbyterian College (Clinton, SC). She is currently pursuing her Master in Business Administration at the College of Charleston. Caroline is a writer at heart and is continually seeking new opportunities to exercise her creativity and engage with her community. Her career began in 2012 as a mortuary apprentice at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton, SC. In 2014, she moved to Charleston to practice as a licensed funeral director and embalmer at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., one of the South's oldest and largest funeral firms. Caroline is also a columnist for an industry publication, "Southern Calls: A Funeral Director's Perspective," where she enjoys writing well-crafted narratives which shed a positive light on difficult subjects such as death and grief. Throughout her young career, Caroline has attracted national attention for her unique, honest take on the often somber, yet intriguing funeral business. Her work has been featured on blogs such as funeralOne and The Presbyterian Outlook. She was honored to present a seminar to students at the 2017 Ohio Funeral Directors Annual Convention. Caroline hopes to build on her professional experience of active listening, event planning, directing customer service teams and fostering conversations about branding and perceptions. She is a highly motivated, tech-savvy problem solver who thrives on improving efficiency, communicating clearly and helping others succeed.

Joshua McGurk

Joshua McGurk graduated from Indiana University – Bloomington with a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management and is currently pursuing a Master in Business Administration degree with the College of Charleston. He has three years of extensive experience in customer service roles in both retail, where he interfaced with customers, and logistics operations, managing clients who were subdivisions of a multi-billion-dollar Fortune 500 company. His logistics operations background bolstered the development of his “can-do” attitude, allowing him to embrace challenges and learn from others. Throughout his life he has worked in diverse teams, including individuals from China, West Africa, Eastern Europe and Turkey. He considers his ability to lead and work with different cultures a strength, and enjoys the experience. Josh also comes from a military family, and has learned the importance of maintaining a high-value, high-ethical framework in all aspects of life. He believes in being the best he can possibly be in everything he does. In his free time, Josh manages a personal stock portfolio, keeps up-to-date on the latest technology and enjoys the outdoors, be it the beach or the mountains.

Auburn Meadows

Auburn Meadows received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and a minor in Supply Chain Management from Auburn University in the spring of 2017. During her time as an undergraduate, she was the vice president of marketing for Alpha Kappa Psi, the oldest and largest professional business fraternity. This experience allowed her to showcase her marketing skills along with leadership, event planning and community service skills.  Auburn also interned at companies including BMW of Macon, the Air Force Reserve Command Headquarters and a magazine in the Czech Republic called The Prague Visitor. During her time at The Prague Visitor, she was featured as a staff writer in the first edition of the magazine and was able to study the differences in business practices both locally and abroad. Currently, Auburn is a Master of Business candidate at the College of Charleston with a focus in Marketing. Upon completion of the program, she hopes to work in advertising.

Mathias Mellul

Mathias Mellul received his bachelor’s degree in Government, Strategy and Diplomacy with a focus on International Affairs and Counter Terrorism from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya located in Israel. He is currently a Master of Business candidate at the College of Charleston. Born in Paris, France, he moved, along with his family, to Israel when he was 16 — eventually earning a Scientific French Baccalaureate with honors in Jerusalem. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies in 2012, he joined the Israeli Defense Forces, serving as a combat engineer in the Combat Engineering Corps for three years. In 2016, he started a position as an intelligence analyst at an Israeli Security firm in Tel Aviv, completing political and security risk forecast on Sub-Saharan African countries, such as Ivory Coast, Senegal and Mauritania — specifically designed for companies attempting to preserve business continuity worldwide. Mathias speaks fluent French, English and Hebrew. Genuinely curious, he aspires to continue pursuing a career packed with daily intellectual and professional challenges.

Kelly Muxworthy

Kelly Muxworthy graduated with honors from Western Washington University, where received a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a Research Writing concentration. She is currently pursuing her Master in Business Administration from the College of Charleston. Kelly graduated with her four-year degree in just three years and completely self-funded her education with both academic scholarships and part-time employment. She quickly moved up in her career in real estate investing, starting with an entry-level position and becoming the vice president of corporate communications within two years. As a VP, she reported directly to and worked very closely with the CEO of a $6 billion public company. In that position, she developed a strong ability to lead teams, manage a travel schedule of 150+ days a year and communicate effectively with executives and board members. She also became skilled in finding accretive investments for the company, locating and securing the company’s downtown Charleston headquarters as well as supervising the renovations and relocation of 15 employees and executives from Scottsdale, Arizona. Although she has a passion for real estate, she also enjoys cooking, playing tennis, skiing and yoga.

Benjamin Needham

Ben Needham graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan in 2010 with a degree in Accounting and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration from the College of Charleston. He has spent the past seven years working for Perrigo Company, plc, the world’s largest manufacturer and marketer of pharmaceutical products for the private label/store brand market. He currently serves as the company’s director of corporate development. In this role, Ben is responsible for managing the Company’s inorganic growth initiatives, including all corporate merger and acquisition activity. Since joining Perrigo’s corporate development group in 2012, the company has completed more than 20 transactions, including an $8.6 billion acquisition of Ireland-based Elan Corporation plc in 2013 and a $4.5 billion acquisition of Belgium-based Omega Pharma NV in 2015. In his spare time, Ben enjoys traveling, golfing and spending time with his friends and family.

Irina Patentova

Irina received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the State University of Telecommunications in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2012. In 2009, she graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages with a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Translation. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at the College of Charleston. Irene works for the information technology company, Veeam Software, as a senior customer reference specialist in corporate communication. In her role, Irene develops and executes former customer reference programs. She engages with culturally varied sales and marketing teams across 15 countries to understand local needs and identify appropriate references that speed the sales cycle and increase revenue. Irene’s interests include marketing, project management, public relations and brand management. Irene speaks Russian and English. She has visited around 25 countries around the world and has experience with many different cultures.

Max Poore

Max Poore received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Management from Mercer University in May 2017. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at the College of Charleston School of Business with a focus in Finance. He has internship experience working on Kiawah Island as a recreation coordinator, where he introduced logistical improvements to the recreation department and assisted with scheduling for bicycle deliveries and pickups. He regularly volunteers with community  organizations, including Jesse Draper Boys and Girls Club, Alzheimer’s Relief, Miracle League, Village Green, Loaves and Fishes Ministry and Reading Rocks. Max also played four years of Division I soccer at Mercer, where he received athletic and academic scholarships and made the conference all-academic team. His interests are watching sports, playing golf and reading the newspaper.

George Ramsay

George Ramsay received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Management and minor in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management from the University of South Carolina (USC). While at USC he also studied Hospitality Management and Marketing at the Florence School of the Arts in Florence, Italy. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at the College of Charleston. George has five years of experience as a general manager of restaurants in Charleston, SC. After managing a restaurant for three years, he was approached by the owner to partner and manage a newly acquired restaurant. He spearheaded a team that renovated and rebranded a Charleston landmark and brought it back to the successful and profitable business it used to be. He is a member of multiple profession clubs in the area, which include the Hibernian Society and the Palmetto Society. He has been elected by his peers for positions including treasurer of the Palmetto Society and vice president of his MBA class. He has lived in the city of Charleston for twenty-four years and has always been an active member of the community.

Alex Rinna

Alex Rinna received her bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Mississippi. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration with a focus in Marketing from the College of Charleston. Over the last 2 years, Alex has been the director of local store marketing and guest engagement for the Rinna Restaurant Group’s (RRG) franchise of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. In this role she has conducted basic service training courses for over 300 employees, reducing customer complaints and raising the guest engagement score to 5% above the system-wide average. She also implemented a catering bonus program, giving employees 10% commission on catering orders, which was then adopted companywide. Alex has initiated RRG’s first loyalty card program, happy hour promotion and local texting program. This year, she designed the Charleston Riverdogs promotion, where Popeyes is the sponsor of each strikeout. Her goal is to build community involvement within the company through feeding the homeless, organizing toy drives for Toys for Tots and setting up community service days at Habitat for Humanity. She traveled to Kenya and Haiti delivering food through the Feed the Hungry Organization. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and going to the beach.

Hannah Roberts

Hannah Roberts received her bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications with minors in Business Administration and Packaging Science from Clemson University, where she graduated cum laude. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at the College of Charleston with a focus in Marketing. During her time at Clemson, she was an active member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, where she held multiple positions, including apparel chair, social media chair and chapter photographer. She also served on the executive committee for CMA EDU and was an active member of Gamma Epsilon Tau Fraternity. In addition, she volunteered with her local Girls on the Run chapter. Recently, Hannah worked as a sales intern, where she researched and collected data for potential customers, conducted cold calls to leads and produced marketing mailers to send to old and new markets. Her previous employers from all of her internships have praised her for her adaptability, positive attitude and willingness to learn. Hannah is also working as a graduate assistant throughout the one-year program. Upon graduation, she hopes to pursue a career within corporate marketing, brand management or product management. When outside of the classroom, Hannah enjoys playing volleyball, attending concerts and going to Clemson football games.

Owen Rogers

A native to Charleston, Owen Rogers graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. After graduation, Owen accepted an investor relations role with The Carlyle Group — a leading private equity firm in Washington, D.C. Following The Carlyle Group, Owen worked in a financial management position with FP1 Strategies, LLC, a professional services consulting group. Since then, Owen returned to Charleston to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in Finance at the College of Charleston. Owen hopes to enter the healthcare or tech management industries after receiving his MBA.

Will Ryan

Will Ryan graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. While at UNCW, Will was a member of the university’s swim team, leading the team as a captain his senior season. Garnering achievements such as multiple top-three finishes at the CAA Conference Championships, CAA All-Academic Team and Dean’s List, he was able find a successful balance between being a student and an athlete. With experience working for financial planners in Charleston, SC, Will’s interests lie in investment banking, asset management and financial analysis. Will is currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration at the College of Charleston with a Finance focus. He also plans to be an active member of the College’s Microfinance Club, where he will get the chance to teach personal finance to College of Charleston students and assist them with asset allocation decisions.

Alexandra Shuman

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Art History from Smith College, Alexandra Shuman explored her passion for culinary arts. She worked for multiple James Beard Award-recognized chefs before joining the content team at the venture-funded startup, ezCater. There, she used her food knowledge and keen command of the written word to create unique branding for a database of over 50,000 caterers. She also led a team tasked with improving productivity — performing audits of old content and writing the style guide that is still used in training today. She later accepted a position as email marketing manager for the national tutoring company, StudyPoint. She quickly earned a promotion for her mastery of the channel, willingness to take on projects outside of her written responsibilities and development of strategies that consistently exceeded revenue goals. Alexandra is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at the College of Charleston with a focus in Marketing. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog, volunteering at local shelters and cooking for her friends and family.

Elizabeth Stegman

Elizabeth Stegman graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Texas Tech University. There, she was also inducted into three honors fraternities and became an officer within her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. She is currently a Master of Business Administration candidate at the College of Charleston and serves as the secretary for the MBA Association. Elizabeth has two years of experience in the non-profit industry, most recently serving as the marketing and volunteer coordinator for a non-profit that aids adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Houston. In this role, she was responsible for coordinating volunteer events with Fortune 500 companies and securing $400,000 in donations. During her time at a graphic design agency in Houston, she interacted with diverse clientele, which expanded her understanding of multiple industries from cuisine to energy. Elizabeth plans to pursue a career where she can travel, problem solve and meet new and interesting people while serving on a non-profit board.

Ryan Wuest

Ryan Wuest is currently working toward his Master of Business Administration at the College of Charleston with a concentration in Finance. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, New York, where he was consistently named to the President’s List. As an undergraduate student, Ryan interned at Pavia Real Estate Services, a commercial brokerage firm serving both New York and Pennsylvania, acting as a key support resource to the brokers. Upon graduation, he began working as a project coordinator for Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, where he facilitated the execution of numerous initiatives throughout the company’s 14 locations. During his time with the company, Ryan successfully helped reduce spending, implement process improvements and provide senior management with plans and proposals for upcoming projects. While here at the College of Charleston, Ryan will be serving as a graduate assistant in the Economics Department. Outside of his academic pursuits, he enjoys golfing, going to the beach, listening to live music and learning about history.

Yan Zhao

Yan Zhao obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees with honor from Xi’an University of Technology both in Material Science. She is currently pursuing her M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the College of Charleston. The education she received trained and prepared her working independently. During her academic career, she participated in the Blue Love Volunteer Group as a team leader to raise funds for rural students and assist with their English and Chinese proficiency. Yan Zhao has held an internship with her family's firm for six months, which inspired her to pursue business. As an international student, Yan Zhao is looking forward to knowing more about the corporate culture in United States, and developing professional skills in communication and decision-making.
