Welcome to the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship. We are the home of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.). Our general course offerings begin with MGMT 301 (Management and Organizational Behavior) and end with MGMT 408 (Business Policy), the capstone course for the major.
The 10 full-time members of the department include people with extensive business experience, award-winning teachers and award-winning researchers. The department's several business leaders in residence add another dimension to what you learn in our classes. And we are all committed to providing our students the best business education possible.
In addition to the general B.S.B.A. degree, the department offers concentrations in entrepreneurship and in leadership, change and social responsibility, as well as an interdisciplinary minor in leadership, change and social responsibility. As a result, we have courses that are designated MGMT, some that are ENTR, and others that are LCSR.
Our students are able to supplement their in-class learning with internships in businesses off campus, the Cougar Undergraduate Business Enterprises (CUBE) program on campus, and through the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team, which competes in national competitions.
Members of the Department are also involved in the Lowcountry Partnership for Biomedical Innovation (LPBI), a project funded by the Parnerships for Innovation Program at the National Science Foundation. This two-year project is designed to enhance the management teams of biomedical startup companies housed in the Charleston Innovation Center.
